Below are some of our most frequently asked questions when it comes to natural dyes, fabrics, production and cost. However, if there's something not covered below, please don't hesitate to reach out to us using our contact form!
How are naturally dyed clothes washed?
We recommend that you wash your clothing separately in cold water using our neutral detergent. However, if you do not have our detergent, you can use a store bought neutral detergent.
Is it possible to have a black color with natural dyes?
Unfortunately, only synthetic chemical dyes can produce a pure black color. With natural dyeing, the black color will generally have a more purplish-black look to it.
Is it possible to consistently reproduce the same color with natural dyeing?
While our unique dyeing recipes do produce the same color in general, there can be very slight variances depending on the natural fabric/material used. We usually have about a +/- 5% tolerance rate for the colors.
Does the pricing vary by color?
Because the ingredients that are used to develop each color are different, the pricing will depend on the color.
How much does it cost?
We can quote you a price based on the weight and color of the requested sample and this should also give you an approximation of the total cost for the production.
Are there any fabrics that cannot be naturally dyed?
Polyester fabrics and yarns are not dyed as we prefer and recommend natural materials. However, all other fabrics, yarns, and clothing can be dyed.
How can you guarantee that the dyes are natural?
Although there is no certification board here in the United States for natural dyeing, AGA NATURE is certified by a doctor in the eastern medicine field who has been teaching natural dyeing at a university for over 30 years. Our natural dyes are generally comprised of herbs, fruits and/or vegetables.
How much does it cost to make a sample?
Sampling costs can vary depending fabrics, dyes, and weight, so please use our contact form to get a quote specific to your needs.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Our MOQ starts at 300 pieces, but in certain cases, we can accommodate a smaller order for a higher cost. Also, requesting multiple colors within a 300 piece order will incur an additional cost per color.
